My name is Brenda Jackson, and my ministry journey has been shaped through seasons of faith, overcoming, healing, and God’s continual restoration in my life.
The Sword and the Scepter Ministries was born from personal revelation and spiritual confirmation. The meaning of Brenda is “sword,” and several years ago the Lord placed the symbolism of a scepter in my hand. Later, He used that same symbol to confirm I was exactly where He wanted me to be as I entered a new church and season of growth.
One of the scriptures that deeply reflects my life is Isaiah 10:27
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” — Isaiah 10:27 (KJV)
I have walked through many seasons of trauma, testing, hardship, and spiritual warfare, but through every season God has remained faithful. My testimony is one of overcoming through Christ, and my heart is to encourage others who may feel broken, weary, isolated, or hopeless.
I have a deep love for Isaiah 61 and the calling to bring hope, healing, encouragement, discernment, and restoration to others through the love and power of Jesus Christ.
Some of the spiritual gifts God has developed in my life include prophecy, discernment, faith, healing, teaching, exhortation, mercy, and shepherding.
One of my personal reflections during a difficult season says:
“My faith will move these mountains…
Crushed spirit, maybe; a broken heart —
But fertile soil, devoid of weeds.”
Today, I continue to trust God’s healing, guidance, and purpose for my life as He transforms pain into purpose and trials into testimony.
